About
Nearly a decade of stories, told from the inside.
Tan Clan Multimedia is a standalone multimedia production company operating under Tan-Clan, Inc. Since 2017 we have produced films, documentaries, photography, events, interviews, and original programming; most of it still in the archive.

Founder story
It started with a camera and a cast of friends
Tan Clan began in 2006 as a filmmaking crew — writers and performers who wanted their own stories on screen and refused to wait for permission. The first productions were shot in living rooms, on porches, and in the streets the founders grew up on, with whatever gear could be rented that weekend.
That instinct never left. Every capability the company has added since — lighting, audio, drones, a treated studio, a full post suite — was added because a production needed it first, not because it looked good on a rate card.
Mission
To create stories, experiences, and culture that let people and organizations be seen accurately — and to hold that work in an archive that outlives the campaign.
Philosophy
Craft over trend. Access over spectacle. The camera earns its place in the room, the crew stays out of the way, and the edit tells the truth of what happened. We would rather deliver one honest film than ten interchangeable ones.
Timeline
The legacy we keep producing from
2006
Tan Clan founded
A small crew, rented gear, and a lot of nerve. The first original films and sketches were written, shot, and cut by the same handful of people.
2018–2020
Original productions and community storytelling
Phone Jones, sitcoms, sketch volumes, interviews, and news segments. The slate proved the crew could hold a story across episodes — and turned the lens toward the neighborhoods it came from.
2021–2023
Expansion into filmmaking, photography, and multimedia production
Documentary series, editorial photography, event capture, livestreaming, and an in-house edit suite. A crew became a production company with owned gear and repeatable workflow.
2024–present
Large-scale production, education, and creative partnerships
Multi-day events, educational programming with school partners, brand content, production consulting, and procurement-ready engagements for agencies and institutions.

We tell stories the way the people inside them would tell them. No borrowed voice.
Community impact
Schools, nonprofits, agencies, and neighborhood organizations have always been core clients.
